M2a Magnum
The M2a-Magnum™ large-diameter articulation system is an ultra-high performance metal-on-metal articulation offering superior joint mechanic restoration and full compatibility with Biomet's clinically proven hip stems.
The M2a-Magnum™ optimises three important principles of total hip arthroplasty:
• High Stability - large head diameter has been shown to lower the potential risk of dislocation by increasing dislocation distance (‘hop height’) to 2.2cm
• Good Range Of Motion – large head diameters offer an increased 162 degrees range of motion compared with other modular head systems.
• Low wear – Metal-on-metal articulations offer a significant wear reduction compared with metal or ceramic-on-polyethylene.

Additional features:
• Titanium Porous Plasma Spray Coating and 4 pairs of fins enhance rotational stability and internal fixation of the acetabular component with an additional press-fit produced by a 2mm under-ream.
• 6 different length taper adaptors, combined with our standard and lateralised stem offsets allow for better soft tissue tensioning and appropriate anatomy restoration without leg lengthening.
• 2mm incremental sizing offers intra-operative flexibility for precise replication of the anatomical fit.
